U pastore

Location

Corsica

Date

2016

Materials

Sea-grass, vegetable tan leather, neoprene

The u pastore handbag is made of traditional Corsican Sea-Grass weaving, originally used by shepherds for brucciu cheese. These cheese strainers called fattoghja were re interpreted, among other things the team built on centuries of tradition to invent new weaving points. The bag also uses laser-cut and laser-engraved vegetable tan leather. The contrasting lining is made of high tech neoprene for the protection of electronic devises and valuables.

The bag is one of the three projects made with Corsican weaver Natalina Figarella during the Fabbricca Design workshop "Manu e Ciarbellu" organised by the Fundazione di l’Università di Corsica in partnership with Luli Shop, an online marketplace dedicated to Corsican made products.
